- 1 tsp Briyani masala
- 1 tbsp curd
- Few Coriander leaves
- Few Mint leaves
Instructions for making Veg Biryani
- Rinse and soak the rice in water for about ½ an hour.
- In a pressure cooker, add cooking oil and ghee. When it gets hot, add cardamom, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, cloves, star anise, javithri, mace, nutmeg, and green chillies.
- Add in the sliced onions and fry till the onions are soft. Then add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
- Add tomatoes and fry till tomatoes are cooked and oil floats.
- Then Add in the turmeric powder, garam masala, chilli powder and salt and saute for a minute more.
- Add in the chopped vegetables. For every cup of rice, use two cup of vegetables and fry for 3-4 minutes.
- Add in the chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves.
- Add 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. Once the water is boiling, add in the rice and let the mixture boil again. Cover the pressure pan with a lid and leave it exactly for 2 whistles on medium flame.
- Tasty and yummy briyani ready to serve.
